Oculophilie

I've always wanted to learn how to draw. Always. My mum and my grandad can both draw and even my sister is starting to show some talent in that respect. I have never been quite so gifted, with my drawings being something akin to a piece of paper being attacked by a five year old. However, over the years I have developed some sort of technique I suppose. It gets me by anyway. Although I do have the pride of winning Portsmouth's 'The News' art competition and stayed on the HMS Victory, I'll have you know. (When I was 11 and with help from my mum but that doesn't matter the glory is still mine)

I digress, today I want to bring you a series of pictures depicting my attempt at drawing an eye. I've always loved eyes, obsessed over my own and other people's. I'm a complete sucker for lovely eyes. The reason I'm doing this is, in relation to my last post (which you can view here if you haven't seen it already), in the future I'd like to remember what it was like to live as the person I am now. Part of this person is someone who yearns to learn more, to progress her skills which I am always doing if it's a recipe or a new word or anything. I just love knowing more. So with that, here we go.

I was following this tutorial here.

I am actually very proud of this. It's nice that you can see all the layers and how a drawing builds up from just shapes.
